When we have to choose a costume for an actor, we first have a meeting with him/her or with the movie director. We have to choose a costume that will not disturb the scene background,and that will be suitable for that actor's role. The most important thing is to explain the movie director the reason why we chose a determined costume.Choosing a bad costume might result in a bad character impersonification, or in an unrealistic feeling conveyance: the general movie quality would eventually decrease. This is why Mr.Koga says: “When I choose a costume, I base my decision exclusively on my experience, no matter who the actor is. This is my policy.”
Some actors might ask brand new costumes. We would be able to produce them but after meetings with the movie director most of times we realize that for historical dramas, nothing is better than old costumes.
